Worth reading - Apple Notes in iOS 27

Apple Notes can finally link straight to a heading inside a note. Type >> to pick a note, then / to pick a section. Stack a few links at the top of a long note and you have a table of contents in an app that never had one.

Amit at iAppList tested the iOS 27 changes on an iPhone 13 and an iPhone 17 Pro. The useful news is that most of the good stuff does not need Apple Intelligence, so older phones get the best of it. It’s a hands-on rundown of seven changes, with a refreshing habit of saying what doesn’t work.

The one that caught my eye is Shortcuts. Append to Note can now target a named section, so ideas land under Ideas and expenses under Expenses instead of piling up at the bottom. He also flags a Markdown copy feature that was reported during the betas and that he could not get working on the public release. That kind of honesty is rare in a feature roundup.

One disappointment from my end: links in Notes are still yellow. In light mode, against a white background, they are hard to read. Dark mode is fine, but that’s not my preference.

It’s a 10-minute read. Worth it.
